What They Wanted
Blue Mountains City Council came to us wanting to better showcase their existing council assets via strong and cohesive branding that not only attracted tourists and local visitors, but made the assets instantly recognisable as part of Blue Mountains City Council’s overarching brand. Katoomba Falls Kiosk & Echo Point Experiences were the two assets that we were asked to start on. They had their own branding, no websites, no or haphazard socials and inconsistent Google listings – which made them hard to find, hard to understand and hurt their chances of attracting visitors. They had never worked with an agency before but knew an agency could help them transform and grow their branding and digital presence.
What We Delivered
Starting with our branding process, we found an identity for each asset that tied back into the trusted Blue Mountains City Council brand. We incorporated parts of the original brand colour palette, whilst modernising each asset sub-brand through different fonts, building on the foundations of what was already there to offer a fresh update on the brand that attracts attention. We developed logos for each asset that took a portion of the escarpment (a.k.a. the colourful mountain graphic) in the council logo, and gave them their own puzzle piece of the council brand, leaving room for additional future sub-brands. Once the brands were built, we put the branding into action on digital platforms including across new websites and social media platforms.
In total we delivered:
– 2 x new websites (one for catering & events, one for visits to Echo Point and the events that will take place there – bringing to life two different locations for their unique target audiences)
– Branding assets including: Logos, brand guidelines (fonts, colours)
– Social Media Management (Instagram & Facebook)
– Content shoots (video and photos)
– Community management
